Presentation/Examination

  • midfoot pain

  • Limp

  • point tenderness over navicular

  • mild swelling/warmth over dorsal midfoot

  • XR: navicular sclerosis, flattening, fragmentation

Treatment

  • self limited

  • symptoms eventually resolve

  • short leg cast up to 8 weeks accelerates resolution of symptoms - long-term outcomes favorable regardless of treatment
