• caused by pox virus

  • firm flesh-coloured bumps

    • often with waxy white centres
  • spread by close skin-skin contact

  • occasionally via infected clothing/towles

  • frequently sexually transmitted

symptoms

  • usually painless

  • lumps may sometimes be itchy/become infected

  • appear 2-3/12 after infection

  • without treatment may persist for up to 2 years
